'TELUK BAHANG Fisherman Found This'!

title is 'TELUK BAHANG Fisherman Found This'!
i read this from stomp obviously.

There has been furious debate online on its origins, with some saying it is an extraterrestrial lifeform, to claims of it being the carcass of a mermaid.
With two fin-like extensions from its head, a scaly outercovering, grotestequely deformed webbed hands and a fish tail, the creature looks anything but the lovely pre-Raphaelite maidens portrayed in myths and folklore.

STOMP did a check online and found conflicting points of view about the truth of the photos.

There were some who said that the creature was found by a fisherman off the waters of Teluk Bahang, an island in Penang.

Others suggested that it was washed ashore.
But a website which claims to debunk internet hoaxes and email scams begged to differ.
According to it, the 'mermaid' is not a carcass of a living creature, but a deceptively realistic looking sculpture by an artist Juan Cabana.
He is said to have created a series of such Oceanic artworks, including other variations of mystical sea mermaids and deep sea monsters.
To add a further twist to such a macabre passion, he would also create fictional stories accompanying each piece of artwork about its origins and how it's found.
The website said: "Mr Cabana has sold this mermaid and other creations via eBay auctions under the name "SeaMystery".
According to information previously available on the auction website, the winning bid for the mermaid was recorded at $1,550.00 US.
"Cabana does not specifically state that his creatures are sculptures in his eBay descriptions.
"Instead, he creates fictional cover stories to go with the sculptures that include such information as how and where the particular creature was supposedly washed ashore and subsequently discovered.
"The artist uses a variety of materials to create his mermaids and monsters, including animal skulls, fish and animal skin, steel, plastic and fiberglass. "

So what's your take on this?
